Snow Season New Zealand

July 2015

Had a day off from training so took a trip down country to Bluff (bottom of New Zealand mainland), usually come down with Dad and crew on fishing trips around Stewart Island, but Dog and I visited a few spots I used to with G Dad. Dog was itching for a run so we headed out around the point (behind sign post).

Back in Queenstown a great pow day up The Remarkables. Wasn't the clearest days but awesome snow.
Countdown - off to Australia for Races and Training 1st Aug.

Had a great day tramping up Cecil Peak, Dad dropped Si and I plus Dog over behind Hidden Island by boat - then we hiked up to the ledge. Great spot for a lunch stop. Then it was on and up.

Terrific weather, amazing views around the whole district "sick" day.  Enjoy getting out into nature - it really is a spirit lifter.   Awesome way to keep fit.

Half way done Skyline page is a great map of the mountains around Queenstown.

I think dog was looking for the boat!!  Ha!

Yep - still looking for the boat home!

Topo Map of area.

Spot the ledge just below peak and snow - a local band played up there are few years ago.

The year is moving fast, keeping busy, working, gym and running the dog! As you can see it's working!! He was still out to the count when we headed into town to pick up some new bindings.

Running in this district isn't hard to do with this backdrop. Wakatipu district - Awesome.

Looking forward to training back with Ross and Jan at ISTC this coming season.

Mum's and cameras - but hey great to get home for the weekend, bit tired after 3 hour drive up from coast after a days Diving but Dogs happy - smiles all round.

He doesn't know it yet,  I'll be sending him into a ice covered pond tomorrow - when the crew get together for our annual Duck Shooting BBQ.

Looking at the weather - I definitely think the Ducks will be ok.

Diving going great - down in Dunedin, did my first night dives on Thursday night and I was really looking forward to getting home to hang with Dog - hike and mountain bike for the weekend.

Got a call from friends inviting me away for the weekend. BAD news - the Dog not allowed to come.

Arrived home - unpacked and then started packing again. Felt really bad - but as you can see Dog was determined not to let me out the front door.  Going to miss him but hey - take every opportunity.
