Two of Dad's sisters hang in Melbourne or just north so he thought it was about time we saw them at Christmas. I have a couple of cousins (Issy and James) who I thought could do with some Nerf gun practice.

Thanks for hospitality. Will be back ---- in the Winter don't think I could handle an Aussie summer!!

Fishing, Von River, Queenstown, NZ

11th Dec 11

Heard Jamie was in town so Dad shot us over the lake to the Von River for a days fishing, it was a super hot, still day and boy was it good to hit the water, even if initially it wasn't planned.

Ha, while climbing up a rock wall trying to get up the river, I slipped and fell in.!! So having scared off all the fish, it was all on - bombs away - amazing rock pools crystal clear, if I had my flippers I reckon I would have been able to catch those guys with my hands.

Jamie and I scored a couple of big trout on the way home from the boat. So all good.

----

3rd pic - some of the results of a crash I had on Saturday after the chain wrapped up my pedals, so having a quiet day was great - give the skin time to restore itself.

Spent a couple of hours at the 7 mile with Fin on Friday so definitely getting my bike fix in before hitting the slopes again.

Mt Nicholas Station, Icebreaker Country

Oct 12-14 2011

Had an awesome time at Mt Nicholas Station with G'Dad and Dad - 29,000 Merinos were getting a hair cut - they look after them really well for www.icebreaker.com - so there wasn't any chance of me having a go at shearing because they care about the end result! Ha.

Really not that disappointed as G'Dad reckoned I was going to get my butt kicked by a sheep!!

This is a shot of G'Dad and I looking down the Von Valley. Terrific place to stay - kool hosts and talk about the food - delicious!!!! www.mtnicholaslodge.co.nz

My G'Dad (Bruce Beadle) used to work over there for many years when he was young, so it was really kool visiting a lot of the property where he used to hang out - various Huts, Burma Road, Von Valley etc.

Managed to get a little hunting in with rabbits and possum on the menu - keep them out of the veggie garden and rose patch.

A-Basin opened today!!
